How I got my double eyelids permanently without surgery ;)

DISCLAIMER**I have noticed this particular post of mine had gained some special attention. I want to let everyone who are currently reading this post know that this is post I've written to share my experience with the double eyelid Asian Beauty Tools (double eyelid tapes, glues and fiber etc.)  This is not a prescription of guaranteed results, for anyone who is interested in trying with what I did, further researches may be necessary and each individual is different, your experience and results may vary to what I have specified in this post. Please always do you own research before deciding on which beauty tools you want to use and the implications of it all. **

Anyways, no more house keeping, let's get into it.

I've always had uneven eyelids on each side of my eyes. My left one is a monolid and my right is naturally double eyelid. And occasionally my left eyelid turns into double one for no apparent reason but it only stays for less than few days before I have my uneven eyelids again. So I decided to try double eyelid tapes when I didn't even plan to have my left eyelid fixed or whatsoever, I was purely hoping to make it double temporarily but for some odd reason it worked,  my left eyelid has actually turned double permanently.

Here's a comparison photo of my before and after photo with no aid of double eyelid tape.

I only had one eye with double lid as you can see, my left eye was monolid. Firstly, the products I've tried include double eyelid tapes, double eyelid fibers, double-sided sticky eyelid tapes and eyelid glue. The only one that really worked is the double eyelid tapes.

Double eyelid tapes
Just in case, you didn't know what eyelid tapes are, there are some pic from internet. It's just a eyelid-shaped tape that you use to stick on your eyelids, so there's a force that pushes the eyelids upwards. Oh there are like two types of them, thin and thick tapes. The thick one gives more wide eyelids like this

notice the diameter of the tape are slightly bigger than the thin one?

Here is the regular one (thin)

Double-sided sticky eyelid tapes

The only difference between this one and the normal tape, is that it's sticky on both sides, so when you use it the lids will be forcibly push together with adherence and create a thin eyelids line.

Double eyelid glue

As the name suggested, it is literally a glue but it's not like the regular glue, its made just for your lids so its much safer to use on eyes. However, personally I really don't like to use eyelids glue. Again it is forcibly push you lids together. Every time, i use it , i feel like there is someone holding up my lids for me and if you did too much, adhere too much of your lids, you can't even close you eyes properly (not kidding-->  just some user reviews on soompi forum

There's a little fork inside that tube of glue, you just simply brush it on and let it to get a little bit dry. And you push your lids up with the fork to get the shape you want it. Again , I don't like this one. It's temporary and apparently, if you use it too much, you lids will get so loose and saggy.

Double eyelids fibers

I don't know why they call this fiber because it's just some plastic sticky stretchy thing that you stretch to the length you want and apply some force to it and push it into your lids. Then you cut the ends. This one is almost invisible and light-wear. My second favorite over all!

MY EXPERIENCE

Speaking from personal experience: Here's how
First of all, determine what types of monolid you have : whether if its loose and saggy, or puffy and fatty.

For loose type of monolids, the best one to use, it's definitely the double-sided tape and the thick double eyelid tapes. This is because, when you use double sided eyelid tapes, your lids tend to create more folds than the puffy eyes. And apparently, your skin has memory, so once you do it for a long time, you will get all these tiny folds on your lids which create forces to push your lids upwards. And then you can use the normal eyelid tape to create the shape you wanted for your lids.

For puffy type of monolid, not gonna lie, this type it's actually quite hard to create the lid, but if you have tried before and got the double eyelids. Please do tell me because I am interested to know what method you've used ;). The products thats best to use are the fibers, glue and regular eyelid tapes. First of all, you should keep using the fibers and glues to create some sorts of marks on your lids/ or folds, for few weeks before you started to use the tape.

My eyelid is quite loose, so I ended up using many products because I didn't know what would work at the time. But the one that had  permanent effect it's the normal eyelid tapes.

Step by step methods:

1. Using tape 24/7 for 4 weeks.
I literally used tapes for a very long time, even more than 4 weeks, I wear the tapes to sleep and when I wake up, I change the tape. Just change whenever, you feel like there's need to do so. cos sometimes, it might get sweaty. And remember to use that fork like tools to smooth and even your lids over and over gain before apply the tape. But do not overdo so, cos it might cause irritation.

2. Switch tapes to a different type (e.g. fibers )
I switched mine from tapes to fibers and then back to tapes after few weeks. And then after that, I still kept using both for a very long time as well.

3. Be patient, the results don't show quickly. Double eyelids tape creates doublelids for you temporarily but it can create folds of your eyelid at least that's where i got my folds from, so if you want to have double eyelids permanently without using any more of the tapes then you just have to be patient.

Yeah, that's basically what I did to get double eyelids, hope ya'll found this helpful, leave comments if you want to ask something. ;D

    1. I think they can only see it if theyre very close. If u pick doublesided tape it shouldnt be visible though

    2. yep and also depends on the size of tape you are using, and colour, some of them are more yellowy which is closer to our skin colour, but yes it is visible once they look closely but tbh, just give no shit because it's weird for those have double eyelids to see such thing but if you have uneven eyelids you just gotta do what you gotta do!

    1. Hi there, I just got my ordered through ebay, it's more like trial and error to find the one that works for your lids. You kind of have to try different thickness and shape first to see what is the most natural for your lids. The price range is really low, generally they are like few dollars from ebay.

  4. How long did it take before it became permanent? Also can you please recommend brands used and when you used them? Eg, double sided at night or wide single side at night etc

    1. hey, it depends on the person. For me it took a few months for it to become permanent, and every now and then I would use it again to reshape it. I don't really like double sided tape, I recommend the regular one, just wear day and night, and be diligent with changing them as well. Like I've mentioned before, you have to try different ones to find out what's the most suitable, and refer to my post for general guide.

    1. Hi Ida, this is definitely a trial and error process. You might have to try several different double eyelid tapes before you find something that would work for you. However, I would recommend you to start with a thin double eyelid tape first, you can always deepen those folds after with a wider double eyelid tape. If double eyelid tape doesn't work for you maybe try a double eyelid fiber or double-sided sticky double eyelid tape. You have to be very consistent with how you use them and you might have to use it for a long time. I've used double eyelid tapes for a good while before my double eyelids had memory of those folds.

    1. Hi there, it really differs from person to person. I wouldn't have a clue. My case is just my personal experience so the time for your lids to create a fold, permanently or temporarily will definitely be difference.

  8. Hi

I've been struggling so hard on my insecuritie on my eyelids one is mono and the other double like yours. I hate taking pictures because you can easily point it out. I was wondering what kind of eyelid double tape ( I believe I need that one) is best to buy? I was thinking on getting it on Amazon. If you need to know what my eyelids look like I can send a picture (somehow).

    2. hi, are your eyelids quite puffy? If they are puffy, it might worth to give double sided eyelid tapes a go or fiber. Otherwise, just the regular double eyelid tape should help it.

you might just have to try out difference ones until you find the one works for you.

  9. I have one big double eyelid on my left and a smaller one on my right, makes my eyes look a little wonky. Will double eyelid tape help me reshape the one on the right for my case as well?

If so, how long will it take?

  10. What do you make of it when my eyelid is loose and saggy but becomes puffy and fatty after putting on eyelid tapes after a while? And then lose the line the tapes have created and have to start all over again. I have been using tape for 9 months now and I’m thinking of switching to fiber but when I tried in the beginning fiber doesn’t hold well for me. Stubborn lids.

    1. I personally found tapes works the best for my eyelids. Sometimes it doesn't work as well on puffy eyelids, you maybe just have to alter for eyelid glue or double sided eyelid tape. you have to try and see what works the best for you.

  11. Hey
I’ve using double sided eyelid tape for 1 year now and i do have the crease during the day time and i apply the tape only at night. However I’ve noticed my eyelids are getting saggy and droopy rather than puffy but i do have the new crease line. I wanted to know didn’t your eyelid get saggy? And if not then could you please recommend me anything to help heal the saggy mess please🙏🏻

    1. Hi, I didn't have that problem with saggy lids. Once my lids have the crease line I wanted. I stop using the tape for a while I only go back on it again when I needed to. Everyone's skin elasticity is different, it may just be the nature of your skin which there is nothing could help with that. You could use the wider eyelid tape to create a wider crease line so it reduces the look of the saggy lids.

  12. I have a similar problem like yours where the same eye has a double eyelid. But, the eyelid will stay there for at most a week and it will go back to a monolid. The double eyelid that appears is really pretty but it’s too big! So which type of eyelid tape would you recommend so that when both is at monolid, I can use them to get a thin/hidden eyelid

  13. This actually worked for me. I used to have your typical Asian monolid without any sort of fold. I started consistently wearing double eyelid tape for a year and achieve somewhat a fold. Then I switch over to sleeping with double eyelid glue on, and I did that for a little over a year. Now I have natural double eyelids when I wake up and don’t need to apply glue or tape anymore. :)

  15. Hi, I had both eyes with natural double eyelids that were quite shallow. The crease of the eyelids can be seen but not very clear and sometimes one eye has multiple eyelid when I got tired. During the circuit breaker I spent most times at home. I decided to follow your way, wore double sided tapes at home daily for 20 to 22 hours. Remove when I go out to do grocery shopping. It’s been slightly more than a year now, both creases on my eyelids have deepen and sort of become permanent. I don’t wear the tape in the day now that I go to work but put on once a week on Sunday night to maintain the deepened creases. I think by using the eyelid tape over a relatively long period of time, it has ‘trained’ my eyes to fold nicely. However I think this method doesn’t work for everyone. I suggested to a friend to try the same method with me。She has puffy mono-lids. She gave up after half a year coz not even a little crease could be formed after the eyelid tape has been removed. So I think this method probably works for people with thinner eyelids and/or people with slight creases in eyelids what were shallow or not clear.
